Event #2 of FTOPS XIII is in the books, and a major congratulations goes to champion Jive32. This is the 13th installment of FullTilt’s Online Poker Series, and with huge guarantees it should be another successful venture.
Event #2, a 6-max, Double-Stack, Shoot-Out, led to a lot of furious action. For those unaware, a Shoot-Out style tournament is more like a group of 1-table Sit-N-Go’s, where each table plays down to just one player, and then the tables are redrawn. With 1,193 players, the eventual winner was going to have to win his table four times to take down the title, $62,632.50, and more importantly, the FTOPS Gold Jersey Avatar given to the winner of each event.
Twenty-two of FullTilt’s very own professionals played in the event, including host, and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Fischman. Other notables were mixed-game specialist Scott Clements, two-time bracelet winner Jeff Madsen, and WSOP bad-boy Josh Arieh.
Being a shoot-out event, the starting final-table stacks were nearly even. The first player to bust was “Gracie8585” who took 6th place and $8,589.60. This was his/her 4th best recorded score on FullTilt, well behind a victory in the $50k Guarantee in May for just over $42,000.
Taking 5th place and $12,526.50 was “Mutha Flushaa”, who took down the $90k for nearly $27,000 in March. Following shortly thereafter was “Jsbryan”, who took home the biggest cash of his career, $17,895.
With only three players remaining, it seemed both “CooLJohN22222” and “POCKET FIVE” had the most experience in big tournaments on FullTilt. However, it was Jive32 who took command, and the championship, earning himself over $62,000. The final hand was a tough one, as CooLJohn22222’s QQ lost to A7 on a 773 flop.
