The fifth week of the popular PokerStars Big Game has concluded. The show is scheduled to air one more week.

The “Big Game” is a televised high stakes cash game that pits an amateur Loose Cannon, staked $100,000 by PokerStars, against five poker sharks. The Loose Cannon keeps any profit they manage to make over 150 hands. A NAPT Passport will be awarded to the most profitable Loose Cannon at the show’s conclusion. At FTR, you can catch every episode of the PokerStars Big Game!

This week’s Loose Cannon, Aaron Jensen, had dreams of financing his wedding with his “Big Game” winnings. Standing in his way was a cast of poker greats. Perhaps the most famous were Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Rousso. Rousso is also a GoDaddy Girl. Joining the two poker icons were Todd Brunson, gamer turned poker pro Lex Veldhuis, and bracelet winner Scott Seiver. O-M-Tony G also participated before getting into a cooler situation versus Rousso.

Top Hands of Week 5:

The action folds to Tony G in the Small Blind. He raises $1,200 with 5-6 in the dark. Rousso looks down at pocket rockets and elects to smooth call. Tony G hits a miracle flop of 5-6-J. He bets $2,000, Rousso raises to $5,000, and Tony G puts in another raise of $20,000. Vanessa decides to calls the $20,000. Rousso hits lightning in a bottle when she nails the A. Tony G bets $10,000 and Vanessa just calls, perhaps fearing Tony has made a flush. Tony checks in the dark before the 5 is dealt on the river. After a bit of classic Tony G banter Vanessa moves all-in and Tony instacalls with a lower full house. He takes the cooler in stride and congratulates Rousso on her nice hand.

Jensen, the Loose Cannon opens K-Q, known as marriage, from early position. Seiver makes a loose three-bet to $5,500 from the SB holding just A-7. Jensen quickly calls and both players check a 4-4-5 flop. The turn is the J. Jensen fires $5,000 with two overcards and a gutshot. Seiver, perhaps looking to make a move on the river, calls. Jensen bets $12,000 on the Ts river. Seiver verbally prods Jensen looking for any kind of tell. Seiver senses something is fishy and makes the call with ace high. He scoops the pot. Nice hand!

Jensen, who is a bit low on chips, straddles, and Negreanu holding J-9 attempts to isolate him with a $3,000 raise. Before the action can get back around to the Loose Cannon Seiver calls with Q-J. When its his turn to act Jensen peers down at A-Q and makes it a cool $10,000 to play. Negreanu and Seiver both make the call. Jensen is first to act on a flop of K-9-7 and makes an aggressive all-in move with his ace high. Negreanu mulls over the odds before calling with middle pair. Jensen announces he only wants to run it once. The turn is the 5d. The 6d is no help to Jensen on the river. We hope his bride-to-be wasn’t counting on the money!
