5th August 2010 – PaddyPowerPoker.com today announces details of the much anticipated Blind Man’s Bluff World Championship event, which will be held at this years’ Irish Winter Festival in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on Sunday 24th October 2010.

The €100 + €10 Blind Man’s Bluff World Championship event will follow the same structure as a game of NLH poker with one main distinction: player will not be permitted to look at their own two cards, however they will have full view of all their opponents cards around the table.

To break it down, two cards will be dealt to each player at the beginning of each hand, though players must not handle or look at their own cards at this time. These cards will be place in each player’s card holding hat; opponents get to see all other player’s cards except their own.  Play continues as a normal NLH poker tournament until the final round of betting is complete. Players will then remove cards from their hat and place them face up on the poker table to reveal the winner of the hand.

“This is a complex game with a lot more skill involved than one might initially think,” said Paddy Power, Communications Manager for paddypowerpoker.com. “Poker players like to think they can read their opponents – let’s see how good they really are at judging a situation without knowing what cards they hold in their hat. This World Championship event promises to be totally crazy, probably a bit chaotic and definitely great craic!”

Online qualifiers to the Blind Man’s Bluff World Championship event will take place on paddypowerpoker.com in September.
