In the wake of the banning of American players from the online poker scene, the Finnish have come to dominate the nightly action on PokerStars and Full Tilt. Perhaps no one player has been more successful than Patrik Antonius, who recently completed a $560,000 weekend.

Despite logging only 388 hands over the stretch, the Full Tilt pro took home a sizable boost. His primary target was the struggling Gus Hansen, who yielded up a total of $448,000 to his opponents last week. In the days running up to Easter, Antonius drew easy blood in a heads-up match of $300/$600 Pot Limit Omaha.

The Fin’s other beneficiaries were the members of a $300/$600 6-Max table, also featuring PLO. The session included such names as NoPasaran, skjervoy, LokoIsBack, and FinnishNightmre. This included a victory in a $190,000 pot when Antonius’ 8-high straight beat out the straight and flush draws of one of his opponents.

Another of Finland’s best has been Jens “Ingenious89” Kyllonen, who snagged an incredible $1,011,000 last week. Since the exile of American players, Antonius has put himself up by $1.5 million on the Full Tilt servers. With the victory, he’s catapulted himself out of the red and into seventh on the year-to-date money list ($1,130,000).
