“Man! I feel like a woman!” were the words sung by Shania Twain on 1999. Over 10 years later, PokerStars is allowing the women of poker to feel just like Shania.
Recently, the world’s largest poker room has been promoting the game of poker to women via the PokerStars Women section of their website. There, female poker players can discover current women’s promotions, the women’s school of poker, and exclusive interviews with the female wing of Team PokerStars.
The ladies of Team PokerStars Pro have been heating up the felt as of late. Yale law student Vanessa Selbst scorched the competition in the NAPT Mohegan Sun Main Event and took home $750,000 for her first place finish. In April, Liv Boeree put a lickin’ on the boys in route to her EPT Sanremo victory. The championship run earned Boeree €1,250,000. Vanessa Rousso stands alongside the two newcomers on Team PokerStars Pro as arguably the most famous woman in poker.
In their latest women’s only promotion, PokerStars aims to take the ladies down south for the Women’s Caribbean Adventure at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in The Bahamas. Mark you calendar for January 13, the date in which poker and pampering are fused together resulting in 4 days of bliss.
Ladies can win PokerStars Women’s Caribbean Adventure prize packages daily. Buy-ins to these satellites range from just $2 all the way up to $215. In addition to cash qualifiers, women can use 500 FPPs to enter a points satellite. To find these prize packages, select ‘Events’ and ‘PCA’ in the PokerStars lobby.
Prize packages are valued at $3,480 and include hotel, ladies event entry, and $700 spending money. Guys, these packages are for women only. Throwing like a girl is an insult, but playing poker like a girl may be one of the nicest compliments you can give. Best of luck to all the ladies in the Caribbean!
