There has been speculation and rumors all week about UB signing a new player after the recent departure of Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth. On Thursday, UB put all of them to rest by announcing the signing of Prahlad Friedman.

Friedman has a very impressive poker resume, including a WSOP bracelet in a 2003 Pot Limit Hold’Em event. He also won a 2009 WPT for $1,009,000 and finished 20th in the WSOP main event in 2006. All together his tournament winnings exceed $2.5 million dollars. If you are a long time online poker fan, you also know that Friedman, also known as Spirit Rock or Mahatma on UB, was the most feared online player a few years ago and is still regarded highly today, grinding as high at $200/$400 online. Not only is Friedman known for his poker playing, but he is also known for his raps, like the one he did for ESPN during the WSOP.

Friedman will join Tiffany Michele, Brandon Cantu, Joe Sebok and others as part of Team UB.
