Nearly 1,000 players registered for Full Tilt Poker Series (FTOPS) XIX Event 33. The $1 million guaranteed event was a $300 rebuy played shorthanded, so it attracted some of the most skilled tournament poker players in the world.

Hosting the event was Isaac Baron, Card Player’s Player of the Year in 2007. In 2008, Baron made the final table of the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final. He took 4th place which paid over $940,000. Baron also holds a FTPOPS title, but failed to cash in Event 33.

Joining Baron were a slew of Full Tilt Poker’s finest. Taylor Caby, Ryan Daut, and Erick Lindgren were the most popular. David Benyamine, Michael Tureniec, David Chiu, and luckychewy finished in the money. Tureniec was the last Full Tilt Red Pro to be eliminated. He finished in 35th place and collected over $4,000.

Eventually, shortsharpshock and VanUA found themselves headsup. The two players decided to strike a deal before playing the remainder of the tournament. After the chop, shortsharpshock claimed ultimate victory, pocketing a shade over $183,000. Thanks to the deal, runner-up VanUA received almost $189,000. Congratulations!

Third place finisher, Haibomi, also was the recipient of a six-figure pay day. The Australia native has already made a final table this series. He finished 6th in Event #22 and collected over $57,000. Haibomi has over $300,000 in winnings across various internet poker sites.

The nineteenth installment of FTOPS ends with a bang today. Over 7,000 players are already registered for the FTOPS Main Event. The current prize pool is over $4.5 million!
