Caesars Entertainment Reaffirms Plans to Launch Poker Site This Summer

Since the approval of Caesars Entertainment’s operator license to offer a World Series of Poker – branded poker website early in July, the poker world has been anxiously waiting for the news of the official launch date.

Stopping short of announcing the date, the firm’s CEO Gary Loveman did confirm in a conference call related to the release of the quarterly earnings report that the company still plans to introduce the product this quarter.

In the report, the company states that it is encouraged by the economic outlook, consumer sentiment, and business trends and plans to go forward with the scheduled online projects.

The first word of a planned website release came during the massive advertising campaign at this year’s WSOP in Las Vegas where players were even allowed to pre-register for online poker accounts.

Caesars Entertainment is also one of the companies widely expected to enter the online gaming market in New Jersey, which is set to open to operators this fall. Both Nevada and New Jersey will operate their online gaming industries separately at first, but both already plan to form a compact to increase the market space and provide larger liquidity, which is essential for the games to flourish.

The lucky winner was none other than a known poker pro Steven Kelly, playing under the screen name ‘SteveKelly’, who has already cashed out five times and has over $1 million to his name in career tournament winnings. He was at a $.25/$.50 No Limit Holdem table and won a $6.85 pot on ace high. His reward for being so timely with this small victory was another $5,000.

Ultimate Poker has every reason to be proud of this achievement as during these three months it has already climbed to be ranked the 33rd online poker room in the industry. On this accomplishment, their Chief Marketing Officer Joe Versaci noted: “This gives us a good opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come and an even better excuse to run a great promotio
