This past weekend was another strong showing for online poker tournaments. While some might have expected action to be down with the Super Bowl on TV, the opposite actually held true. In fact, this past weekend was one of the biggest of the last few months that did not contain a tournament series. Aided by the Winter Million on Party Poker, there was more than $4,300,000 spread below our six major events below. Unfortunately, most of the biggest tournament were chopped up well before heads-up play, killing some of the excitement of such a big Sunday.
With online tournaments headed in the right direction, along with more sites popping up since Black Friday, it seems online poker is back and better than ever. It might still be difficult to find a lot of action in high-stakes games, but the micro, low, and mid-stakes levels are still thriving.
