APAT Welsh Amateur Poker Championship comes to Cardiff

The Amateur Poker Association and Tour is hosting the Welsh leg of it series at the G Casino in Cardiff and all the action kicks off on Saturday. The £75 + £7.50 event is aimed at the recreational player, and should be chock full of value. William Hill are supporting the event, and have been offering Satellites to the event on their site. There may still be time to take advantage of these, to get the most value from this event.

Leg 8 of the GUKPT series arrives in Bolton

The GUKPT is holding its 8th leg of this season in Bolton, and all the action is taking place in the G Casino in Ormrod Street. The festival starts on Sunday, but the £500 + £50 Main event doesn’t kick off until later this week, with day 1A and Day 1B on Thursday and Friday respectively. Satellites will be available at the venue, and you may still be able to find a few online at the G Casino iPoker Skin. The £50,000 guaranteed event is bound to be a little light on well known names given the big festival in Galway is still going on as well.

UKIPT Galway Underway

Speaking of the UKIPT, the Full Tilt sponsored festival in Galway is gathering pace, with the first big event, The Galway Cup, playing its final table today. The main event is a €1000 + €100 with a €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. I have seen tweets from the organisers letting people know that there are still some cut price rooms available through @UKIPTHotels.

The main event is scheduled to have it’s Day 1s on the 8th and 9th of August. There is a full schedule of other events, including a €1000 + €100 Uk vs Ireland heads up event today.

888 Superstack High Roller at London Mint

The London Mint is hosting the £500 + £50 “High Roller” event as part of the 888 Superstack series. They are also hosting a £50 + £5 satellite to this event on Tuesday. The satellite is planned to start at 19:30, and is a freezeout format. Sunday’s High Roller is going to start at 14:00, and player should be pretty deep with a 20k starting stack for this freezeout.

No guarantees have been put on the prize pool, and with Galway sucking up a large number of the targeted demographic for this event, it could be seen as a very valuable opportunity for an up and coming player to get their hands on a title, and a decent wedge of cash.
