WSOPWith the Player of the Year race starting to get pick up the pace, and with action spread over five different events, the 19th of June was always going to be a busy day for those of us in the Poker Media. The following is a condensed version of all the action of the day.

Event #31

The final day of the Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Low Split 8 or Better saw Jarred Graham beat out Marco Johnson for the title and $255,942 to go with his new bracelet. Barry Greenstein came in third in what was his best cash of the series. A full report is on it’s way later, but until Mike has got it ready, you’ll have to make do with the final table payouts:

Event #32

Day 2 of the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em 6-Max Event #32 saw 128 players culled down to just 14. Last man out was FTR forum regular Max Steinberg, who busted in 15th for $23,791.

Event #33

It’s not often we see a Day 1 chip leader exit Day 2 on top of the pile, but that’s what has happened in the $2,500 Seven card Razz Event #33. David Bach was that man, and goes into the final day as chip leader. Players who aren’t as fortunate included Jason Mercier, Allen Kessler, Mike Matusow, Todd Brunson and George Danzer, who all busted before the money. With 14 players going into Day 3, the stacks look like this:

Event #34

We also saw the beginning of the $1,000 Turbo NLHE Event #34, and 1,629 reached into their wallets to join in the action. Victims of the Turbo structure included Joe Cada, Jonath Duhamel, Greg Raymer, Maria Ho, David Williams, and Antonio Esfandiari (139th for $2,111).

Day 2 sees just 35 players coming back to the Rio for the final day, and the big stacks are going to be:

The $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha Event #35 also kicked off on Wednesday, and amazingly only saw 640 entries. This still generated a prize pool in excess of $1.7 Million, and will be split between the top 72 players. Included in the 137 heading into Day 2 are Sam Trickett (20,700), Max Silver (31,800), Phil Hellmuth (35,000), Mike Sexton (36,500), Phil Ivey (46,000) and Jonathan Duhamel (87,500).

The chip leaders heading into the second day of action are:

Player of the Year

Daniel Negreanu has stretched his lead in the Player of the Year race, by cashing in Event #32 in 39th place. The only other movement of note in the top ten is Matthew Waxman jumping up to 4th place after making 20th place, also in Event #32.
