An interesting story broke earlier this week through Jason “Krantz” Rosenkrantz’s blog, dangerlion.com.  Rosenkrantz writes:

House of Cards, a hour hour special, will chronicle the lives of a group of top-flight online poker players.  All close friends who met on the internet, they’re considered the best online players in the world.  We’ll hear their stories and vicariously experience a dream life through their eyes, enjoying the best that high-end Las Vegas luxury has to offer.  From the hottest clubs to the top hotels and restaurants, the boys are heroes to kids like them around the Globe.  Along the way they’ll win and lose money in competitive games against other players of their skill level.  House of Cards we be a compelling look at the minds and personalities of the elite online poker subculture.”

Krantz divulges that this project has been in the works for 18 months, and was shopped around to MTV, HBO, and “a buncha other networks that passed for various reasons.”  A pilot is set to be filmed over the next two weeks, with a 6-8 episode option in the works.   The shows seems similar to “I Bet You” which stars Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak.  The two prop bet their way through a variety of challanges, usually culminating in one final $5,000+ main event.  In House of Cards, the four main characters (Krantz along with Whitelime, FoxwoodsFiend, and flawless_victory) will compete to earn the most $ playing poker, the losers being “forced to do some ridiculous stunt, dare, punishment, etc.”

Rosenkratnz is known to be one of the toughest Heads-Up No-Limit players online.  He plays as “pry1nniad” on FullTilt and purplEUROS on PokerStars. According to one tracking service, he is up over $3,000,000 over the past 20+ months.  Ariel “Foxwoodsfiend” Schneller plays as “Daevils” on FullTilt and “vickisgod” on PokerStars.  He has made a meteoric rise to the top of NL cash having played in some of the biggest online games ever.  He is up more than $250,000 playing high-stakes NL on FullTilt just this year.  Emil “whitelime” Patel, a well-known highstakes NL and PLO player, finished 2nd earlier this year to David Singer in the $25,000 HU NL Championships on FullTilt. Brian “flawless_victory” Roberts completes the quartet of degenerates.  Extremely well-known and respected in the online poker world, Roberts is said to have won millions playing games up to 300/600NL.

All four participants are coaches and instructed for the DeucesCracked instructional site.
