Definition
Where the community cards contain a pair. This is important because it makes flushes and straights potentially less valuable, as a full house or quads is now possible.
Example
"I have a fullproof tell as to when Daniel Negreanu has a straight. Just see if the board has paired." (Barry Greenstein on "High Stakes Poker", after Negreanu took several bad beats that involved flopping the nuts and losing on the turn or the river.)
